Sessions Guide
Our Initial Nutritional Assessment will gather information about your health and well-being, nutritional habits, digestive health, preferences and goal(s).
During your Follow-on Nutritional Consultation sessions we will discuss your Nutritional preferences, habits and goals in more detail. You will be supported in planning and executing on your goal in a reasonable time frame.
Further, our goal is to educate you in how food impacts your body, and how your goals are related to these impacts.
We will take you through how to make food work for you, so that you can reach your Nutritional Goal.
What is a Nutritional Goal?

Increasing Energy and Overall Stamina
Meal Plans/ Diet Changes
Improving Mental Health (in conjunction with external Mental Health Counselling)

Session 1 (Initial Nutritional Assessment)
Risk Assessment
Current Health Status Discussion
Food Diary
Discussion of your goals for seeking assistance
Session 2 (Follow-up Session)
Discussion of Food Diary prepared during the previous week/ fortnight.
Calculation of current Macronutrient consumption (ie. Carbohydrates, Protein and Fats).
Estimation of current Micronutrient consumption (ie. Vitamins and Minerals).
Discussion of required intake of Macro/ Micro Nutrients and personalised intake requirements as per your body and current/ desired future lifestyle.
Optional Motivational Interviewing Session. This is a counselling technique that can assist in bringing your existing motivation for change to the surface, as well as enhancing your motivation for change. (A portion or all of Session 2 may be dedicated to Motivational Interviewing, with the topics listed above moved to Session 3).
Session 3 (Follow-up Session)
Discussion of foods and their Nutritional value.
Education on food and how they impact our body. What to consume more of and what to avoid.
Education on how to add foods you love to your diet and still stay within your goal weight.
Education on how weight is gained through the consumption of food, and how to keep it off.
How to choose foods while shopping to ensure adequate Nutritional intake at your budget.
Optional Preparation of a Meal Plan if required (Fee Payable).
Session 4 (Follow-up Session)
Optional Solution Focused Therapy Session. We understand that being bombarded by information on how to change your lifestyle in order to meet your goals can be overwhelming, so we offer Solution Focused Therapy.
Solution Focused Therapy is a counselling technique that can assist you to identify your existing resources, skills and opportunities. These resources can then be leveraged to help you to meet your goal (eg. Weight loss).
You do not need to know what these are before the session, the point of the session is to help you discover them.
These resources will be used to collaboratively plan a strategy for you to achieve the goal(s) you have identified in Session 1.
Please note that this session can overflow into a Session 5.
